Founded in 1961, South Lee School is a thriving, highly successful, co-ed day school. Pupils move on at 11+ and 13+ to a range of strong senior schools, locally and further afield. This is an exceptional opportunity for a passionate, dynamic and inspirational teacher to join the Senior Management team as Deputy Head in this vibrant and forward looking prep school in the heart of Suffolk.
We are looking for someone with outstanding communication skills and an understanding of prep school life. The Deputy Head will be expected to teach a reduced timetable; subject specialism to Common Entrance 13+ and Scholarship or equivalent level would be an advantage, all subjects will be considered. A willingness to be involved in the extra-curricular life of the school is essential and expected.
The school will offer the successful candidate training opportunities both for enhancing performance as Deputy Head and, if desired, as an aspiring Head. The Deputy Head attends meetings of the Governing Board as required and of some of its committees. The Deputy Head is co-responsible, along with the Bursar, for Health and Safety across the school and is the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
