Job overview

DEPUTY HEAD (2 positions)

  • Deputy Head in charge of inclusion
  • Deputy Head in charge of curriculum

Two exciting posts have arisen at our oversubscribed secondary school in Lewisham. Trinity is a Church of England school in a challenging inner city context. The post of Deputy Head will be suitable for a dynamic, ambitious and innovative leader in pursuit of excellent outcomes for the children of Lewisham.

Our board of governors seek an experienced senior leader who is:

  • an inspirational and visionary leader with a track record of school improvement
  • able to challenge, inspire and motivate students and staff to raise attainment
  • able to make a significant contribution in moving the school from the current OFSTED grading to Good or Outstanding
  • ready and prepared for a new challenge including government policies on academies

As a Church of England School, Trinity has a distinctive Christian ethos, welcoming and nurturing children of any faith or none. We have close and supportive links with local churches and our wider community which has resulted in us being oversubscribed. Trinity Primary opened in 2013 and is growing one year group at a time. Planned capacity when fully opened is 420 children. Trinity Secondary (years 7-11) numbers 600 pupils.

Our small size and close knit family atmosphere provides a uniquely supportive environment in which children are challenged and urged to excel. The Board of Governors has recently been reconstituted and is completely engaged with the Head and Staff in pursuit of our mission.

Closing Date: 12noon Monday 16th of May, 2016
Interviews: To be decided after shortlisting and will be communicated.

Application packs are online or from the School Office Manager: Mrs Uloma Ezirim u.ezirim@trinity.lewisham.sch.uk

Pre-application visits or conversations with the Head Master, Father Richard Peers, are welcomed.

The post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Values and vision

Trinity All Through School aims to be a strong Christian community in which children and adults flourish. It aims to be a place where pupils achieve the very best educational outcomes, enabling them to make good life choices and to take their place as citizens of the wider world.

As far as learning goes, the school believes in vocation and seeks to enable children to explore their choices in careers and relationships. The school models itself as a 'grammar-style school’, aiming to offer the very best for every child within a formal, traditional academic framework enriched by sport, music and art.

Leadership is encouraged at all levels of the school and students have opportunities to exercise leadership. Trinity All Through School also strongly believes that formality, in its public events and relationships, helps students by building character and an appreciation of structure.

Ofsted report

We are a ‘Good’ School with Outstanding Elements, Ofsted 2021, an ‘Outstanding’ School in our Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) report and we have been awarded with the Inclusion Quality Mark as a ‘Centre of Excellence’.
