Harrogate College is recruiting for a Deputy Head of Department for Business and Professional.

We are looking for candidates:

Responsibilities  

  • Lead the Business & Professional Department, particularly around quality, teaching, learning and assessment and securing outstanding outcomes for students.      
  • Be a role model across the Department for outstanding teaching and learning, performance manage lecturers and other staff within the Department and ensure that they develop their professional practice.      
  • Reporting directly to the Deputy Director of Curriculum you will lead a department that has a broad range of curriculum including English & Maths delivery across the college, 16-18 provision (I.e., Health & Social Care, Creative Media), Adult provision and Apprenticeships.      
  • Ensure the Department is efficiently run and delivers its financial contribution targets, ensuring that all courses within the Department are run effectively and meet awarding body, funding and quality agency requirements.


Key Requirements  

  • Experience of leading & managing in the FE sector.      
  • Proven track record of delivering outstanding outcomes.      
  • Understanding of the vocational industry/sector.      
  • A role model and skilful communicator.
