Deputy Head of Mathematics

The Heath School is excited to be able to offer a fantastic opportunity to an experienced or aspiring Deputy Head of Mathematics to join us at our school, that sits in the heart of the community of Runcorn. Our school is a good school, which is extremely popular. We are oversubscribed with over 1200 students on roll. For many years, outcomes have been extremely positive, and students have moved on to achieve their aspirations. However, we do not pride ourselves only on our academic performance but on our student-centred approach and the range of opportunities we provide our students through our curriculum and through our extra-curricular offer. That is The Heath Standard.

We care for our staff, as we care for our students, their health and wellbeing is paramount as we understand the pivotal role our staff play in the development of our school and its students. Our staff work incredibly hard but equally, we work hard to ensure their work is as effective as possible.

The successful candidate would require some prior leadership experience, be an excellent classroom practitioner and have in depth curriculum knowledge. We have ten staff who make up the maths team including and experienced Head of Maths and TLR holders, who provide superb support to their leader and their peers. Our facilities are excellent and our students love to learn. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop personally and further raise standards across the department.

For further information on the post and why you should work at The Heath school then please see supporting documents, contact the school or even arrange for a visit.

An application pack and further details are available from the school website or alternatively contact the Head of School’s PA, Marie Wadsworth.

The Heath is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students and the post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (formerly Criminal Records Bureau). Further information about DBS checks can be found at www.gov.uk/crb-criminal-records-bureau-check.
