Job overview

Join a team that’s as ambitious as you are.

We understand why you became a teacher in the first place. You want to transform lives and futures. You want to see every pupil, whatever their background or level of ability, make real progress and achieve their full potential. So join a team that’s as ambitious as you are.

City of London Academy Highgate Hill, opened as a mixed, all-ability, non-denominational academy in September 2017, and is housed in a lovely building with excellent facilities for students, staff and the community. With the support of our enthusiastic students, diligent staff, supportive parents and cohesive governing body, we strive to provide a calm and purposeful learning environment underpinned by high expectations.

We are seeking a Deputy Head of Sixth Form to join us in September 2021. As a member of our staff you will be instrumental in laying the foundation of outstanding standards of education and creating a stimulating and purposeful environment where our pupils can make excellent progress. It is essential for candidates to be able to teach further maths to KS5. You must also be able to teach maths to KS3 and KS4.

You will have high expectations, a commitment to raising standards of attainment and up-to-date knowledge of teaching and behaviour management strategies. We are seeking passionate and driven individuals with good communication and organisational skills and a desire to make a difference to the lives of our pupils and their communities.

We are driven by ambition: a clear ambition to deliver world-class results as we combine the heritage and tradition of the Corporation of London with a genuinely innovative, enterprising and entrepreneurial ethos.

We’re also committed to providing first-rate training and development to all our teaching staff, plus excellent career advancement opportunities within this evolving Trust. You’ll find high expectations here too. We expect the kind of exemplary behaviour that allows our teachers to do their jobs as effectively as they can.
