The opportunity


Newcastle Under Lyme Preparatory School (NULS Prep School) is Staffordshire’s largest independent Preparatory School and a part of Newcastle Under Lyme School, one the country’s leading and highest performing co-education HMC independent schools. NULS’ Preparatory School enjoys the enormous benefit of being located in NULS’ 30 acre campus which enables the provision of a highly distinctive education to boys and girls aged 2 to 11, the vast majority of whom will continue on to study at NULS Senior School.

NULS Preparatory School now seeks a highly able, ambitious and committed Deputy Head to play a leading role in the next phase of development. The new Deputy Head will work under the guidance of the Preparatory School Head and school’s overarching Headmaster and be a member of the whole school Senior Management Team. Their role will involve a blend of high level strategic and development work combined with a core of day-to-day operational duties helping to lead the school pastorally, academically and beyond. Their aim will be to further enhance the academic and all-round standards for which the school is renowned. NULS holds the highest possible gradings of double Excellent under ISI Inspection and the new Deputy Head will help us to shape and implement the NULS 2025 vision (www.nuls.vision.co.uk) to drive the Preparatory School learning experience progressively forwards, to further ensure that every member of the community flourishes. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior leader to work with a strong and collegiate staff in a confident school.

This person will possess a successful track record of generating progression, innovation and exceptional standards, with a management approach based on openness, trust, collaboration and excellent communication skills.

Newcastle-under-Lyme School, which attracts pupils from  Staffordshire, Cheshire, Shropshire, Derbyshire and Telford and Wrekin, is a co-educational day school for pupils aged 2 -19.
