Job overview

Job Reference : 03468

Are you seeking an opportunity to play a major role in one of the most successful international schools in Asia? The Deputy Head of Primary (DHoP), along with the Head of Primary and three Assistant Heads, form the Primary School Leadership Team (PSLT). This team leads the strategic and operational workings of the school. The role requires the successful candidate to understand the practice of leadership as well as having the ability to deliver on specific leadership and management roles and responsibilities. Significant autonomy to oversee and lead a large portfolio will be given to the right candidate.

These include;

  • Leading on core learning areas (e.g. assessment, student welfare, professional development, performance management, etc.)
  • Line-management of Year Leaders
  • Oversight of several operational aspects (e.g. cover, duties, calendar, handbooks, etc.)
  • Input into common PSLT responsibilities (e.g. recruitment, induction, development planning, etc.)

Beyond this, the DHoP has direct responsibility for leading the school in the absence of the Head of Primary. Candidates are encouraged to highlight any relevant experience as well as express any particular areas of interest. There is a small teaching commitment, which is at the discretion of the Head of Primary/Principal. You will deliver an adapted UK National Curriculum that is constantly evolving to meet current educational thinking and our international context.
