Deputy Head of Primary – renewable 2 year contract

Due to internal promotion Green Oasis School is seeking a suitably qualified candidate for the Deputy Head of Primary position. The Deputy Head of Primary works closely with Head of Primary with the main focus being the pastoral welfare of students from Year 1 – 6. Qualifications in educational counseling would be an advantage as would knowledge and experience of AfL and Differentiation.  The Deputy Head of Primary leads the Key Phase coordinators and is a key member of the primary leadership team.

The position would be from August 2018. Candidates must have a full teaching qualification and at least 5 years teaching experience. The post comes with a 10 hour teaching load. An ability to teach a specialist subject at Key Stage 2 would be an advantage. Please state this in your letter of application.

Green Oasis is an English speaking school close to the border with Hong Kong. We have students from Year 1 through to Year 11. Children at the school follow the National Curriculum for England and go on to take their IGCSE examinations in the secondary school. Many of the children are from Chinese backgrounds and some have a limited knowledge of English when they arrive at the school. EAL support is offered throughout the School. Every class in the Primary school has a teaching partner who is able to speak in both Mandarin and English.
