After a period of some disruption, life in Yangon has resumed a sense of normality. We have returned to on-campus learning in our superb, purpose-built, spacious and extensively resourced campus. Yangon is a wonderful city to be based in; it is beautifully green - both literally and on the FCDO travel advisory map. This means that the UK Government now allows for travel to Yangon.

We are a small school with undoubtedly the best facilities in the city and we offer a genuine and personalised approach to both our students’ learning and our teachers’ wellbeing and professional development. For those with an enthusiastic, collaborative, professional and adventurous approach to learning and to life, this may well be the perfect opportunity for you.Established in August 2014 BSY later became part of Nord Anglia Education and its global family of schools. We provide personalised, inspiring learning to students from EYFS- Year 13 and we link our learning approach and attitude to our four key values:

Adventure  Courage  Integrity  Kindness

Our purpose-built school boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including a covered sports field, a 25-metre pool, two gymnasiums, and a climbing wall. The Science Department has state-of-art science labs and we are proud of our 500-seat theatre and specialist music, drama and art rooms. The latest technology features strongly throughout the school and in our modern, air-conditioned classrooms with interactive white boards and wireless connectivity. The school even accommodates the all-famous Yangon Bakehouse coffee shop, an inviting setting for our community to benefit from. We have a strong and extremely supportive parent community, and our students are enthusiastic and creative learners who are a joy to teach.

About the role

Reporting directly to the Principal, you will be a key member of the School Leadership Team, providing direction, inspiration, and guidance to our Primary teaching staff and playing a significant role in strategic planning. Focused on developing a high performing team, you, will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the school including staff development, performance management and deployment. You will also be responsible for developing creative and innovative learning experiences and opportunities to enhance our already high standards of academic attainment and progress. This role would suit both experienced deputy heads yearning for something a little different and also those ready to develop their leadership skills further.

About you

This means you will be fully up to date with curriculum developments. Strong on leadership and people management, you will have a flair for bringing people with you, setting and meeting challenging performance targets and engaging with parents and students alike.

A strong ambassador for the school, you will be able to develop new ways to engage students and parents with the wider school and Nord Anglia Education community.
