Deputy Head of Primary (Responsible for KG / Early Years)

THE POST – Deputy Head of Primary (Specific responsibility for KG / Early Years) 

We are seeking to appoint a motivated, dedicated, highly skilled and experienced leader to work alongside, develop and support a multi-cultural team in our continued pursuit of excellence. Our focus is purely on your ability as a practitioner and leader so experience of the US Common Core Curriculum we follow is not essential. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is already a senior leader or middle leader looking for their next progression. The main focus of the role would be to lead the early years phase of the school, working closely with the Head of Primary and deputise in their absence. Other primary wide areas of responsibility will be agreed to suit the skills of the successful candidate.

Qualifications / Person Specification 

• A relevant teaching qualification: minimum of a B.Ed. or BA/BSc + PGCE/QTS for the age group you will be teaching, and for specialist roles, a degree in the subject you teach;
• A minimum of 5 years recent teaching with leadership experience;
• An excellent understanding of early years / primary teaching, learning, curriculum design and assessment;
• Experience / Understanding of English language learning, particularly for students for whom English is a second language;
• Excellent communication skills to lead by example, as well as collaborate with other senior leaders, staff members and parents;
• Ability to work strategically, research and implement new ideas whilst evaluating current processes;
• Be an effective team player that can maintain a positive outlook and sense of humour. 

Terms and conditions

• 2 year contract renewable annually;
• Remuneration package including a competitive tax-free salary, accommodation or allowance, health insurance, flight allowance and end of contract gratuity.
