Job overview

We are looking for the best possible person for this fantastic job in our wonderful SEND school.  Although the role is second to mine as the best job (!) you will find this post exciting, dynamic and fulfilling, working with amazing children and extraordinarily dedicated adults.  You would be working closely with the Head of School,  Heads of Department and myself to ensure the children are foremost in our thinking and remain the epicentre of our work.  Your passion needs to be evident, but level-headedness, fairness, ethics and morals that chime with the school's existing values are essential.

Your knowledge and understanding of SEND must be strong, having extensive experience of teaching pupils who have particularly high vulnerabilities.  Working in a busy school, your confidence, fluid communication skills and creativity will ensure challenges are met and problem-solved.

Your team of teachers, TAs and admin are wholly dedicated and need your leadership to keep their spirits high and direction of travel clear in what are challenging times in the world with multiple issues that impact on the individual.

The position of Deputy Head of School:Teaching and Learning has a great deal of responsibility and accountability.  Working with the support of myself and the Heads of Schools in The Blue Tangerine Federation (urban dictionary: different in a good way and, indescribably beautiful!) the role is cushioned from complete responsibility.

To ensure the process is Covid safe, we will be hosting interviews at our sister site, St Luke's School in Redbourn (Covid protection measures observed).    Viewing The Collett School in advance of applying is strongly advised and expected.

Best wishes and I look forward to welcoming you to The Collett School soon!

Stephen Hoult-Allen

Executive Headteacher
