This is a great opportunity for a supportive Deputy Head of Year to join the pastoral team at the Stanground Academy. 

We are seeking a responsible and approachable individual to offer essential support to the Head of Year on all pupil/parent issues within a specified year group.

About you:

The successful person must be well organised and have high expectations of attendance, behaviour, attainment, and dress of all pupils. They will enjoy working with young people and be passionate about motivating pupils to achieve the best outcomes possible.

The Stanground Academy is led by the Principal, James Scarrott, who ensures that staff are motivated and committed to achieving the highest standards. The £23 million state-of-the-art building boasts facilities which are arguably some of the best in the county including fully-equipped specialist rooms, extensive sports facilities, a dance studio, theatre and high tech ICT equipment.

The academy is part of the Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT) which is a not for profit educational charity, committed to improving the outcomes for its pupils. You will be required to work 37 hours per week, this is reflected in the pro-rata’d salary.

The new Stanground Academy opened on 1 April 2012 and is one of the Greenwood Academies Trust’s Group of Academies, replacing the predecessor Stanground College. The Academy has since undergone a £24M building project and now boasts state of the art” buildings providing academic, vocational and sports facilities for pupils and staff.  These include fully-equipped specialist rooms, extensive sports facilities, a dance studio, a theatre and high tech ICT equipment.
