Tenby International School Kuala Lumpur campus is located on a green 20-acre site with excellent facilities and offers a welcoming, inclusive and stimulating place to work.  

The campus is home to Tenby International School, which consists of a Primary, and Secondary School (IPC, National Curriculum for England, CIE IGCSE and A Level) and a Malaysian Private School, Sekolah Sri Tenby (Malaysian National Curriculum). The campus welcomes over 2000 students, aged from 3 to 18 years and from 38 nationalities; with 1450 attending the international school, 700 of which are in the primary school.

The International school offers a rich, quality education with affordable fees and caters for the children of expatriates working and living in Malaysia, as well as Malaysian children. Our highly qualified teaching staff are expatriate and local, and are dedicated to developing students academically and socially by driving a co-curricular programme of more than 165 activities.

We are an accredited member of the Council of International Schools (CIS), a centre for Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), authorised to deliver the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), an Eco School Silver Award holder and a Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Associate.

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for an existing Deputy Head or an outstanding middle leader in our International Primary school. We are looking for a dynamic, fun and knowledgeable practitioner who will be overseeing our Key Stage 2 department. The post is non-class based with a teaching commitment (to be assigned at a later date) which will to provide support, boosting and cover.  We are looking for an outstanding practitioner who has had experience in upper Key Stage 2.

We need a reflective and supportive team member who will be able to lead on INSETS and have the drive to build on policies already in place, cementing practise. You will be expected to oversee KS2 and each year group has up to 5 classes. We are looking for an approachable leader who wants to make a real difference and support the staff in the school as they embrace different teaching styles and expectations. A positive outlook and a sense of humour are desirable and we will fully support this role going forward with PLT meetings where we discuss and reflect on the direction of the school. 

  • You must have a proven track record of outstanding teaching and learning
  • Will monitor and evaluate the data within your year groups
  • Will lead planning meetings, monitor planning and conduct book walks
  • Lead INSETS and drive forward consistency
  • Have the confidence to have difficult conversations with team members who may be underperforming
  • Drive forward standards and bring a consistent, fun approach to life here at Tenby
  • Be an active part of an inclusive leadership team, attend and contribute to leadership meetings
  • Have an understanding of CAT4 and GL Assessment
  • Genuinely want to make a difference and drive standards
  • Embrace new things in a ‘have a go’ way.
