Deputy Head - Primary School

HD Shanghai SchoolShanghai

An enterprising leader is required to play a key role within the Hurtwood House China group of schools. Reporting to the International Principal, the incoming Deputy Principal will assist them in assuming responsibility for the welfare and academic development of our Primary School pupils at the Shanghai Campus. Pupils at primary level follow a dual Chinese and international curriculum in preparation for transitioning to our Secondary department and subsequently a variety of leading educational institutions worldwide at 13+ and 18+. The successful candidate could be either an academic or pastoral specialist but will have wide-ranging primary leadership experience that she/he can adapt to a new context.

The first Hurtwood House China school opened in August 2014 and there are now campuses in Shanghai, Ningbo, Beijing, Qingdao and a new sister school opened in Nanjing this year. The story will not stop here. Existing schools will continue to grow rapidly, and plans are already afoot to open further new schools in other Chinese cities.

Joining the Hurtwood House China Schools Group in a senior leadership role offers an exciting opportunity for a talented, ambitious and driven professional to take their career to new levels as part of a dynamic and forward-looking organisation that is rapidly becoming the market leader in the provision of bilingual education for Chinese nationals.
