The Taunton Academy is seeking to appoint an experienced and dynamic professional to join our Senior Leadership Team.  We have wonderful staff with students who deserve the very best and this will be a really exciting time to join the Academy.  

The successful candidate will have oversight of culture and ethos where your strategic leadership will help to take us to the next stage of our development. The post will suit an individual with strong academic and pastoral credentials, proven strategic vision, management experience and a genuine ambition for the academy and its students. It will focus on behaviour oversight to shape the ethos of the school. If you believe that you can inspire students to reach their potential  and impart a love of learning, then we would be delighted to hear from you. 

The academy is on journey of improvement and has a strong staff team in place to ensure every child is enabled to fulfil their potential. We have excellent pastoral support and our students report that they feel very happy and safe at the school. We are proud of our students. The relationships between staff and students are strong. Community engagement is also an important feature; a recent poll showed a high degree of parental satisfaction.

The Taunton Academy, sponsored by the outstanding Richard Huish Trust, is an 11-16 academy in the north of Taunton. With modern, impressive facilities, the academy currently caters for approximately 830 students, with an increasing roll anticipated to see numbers rise to in the region of 1200 over the next few years. Taunton is Somerset’s county town and has easy access to the M5. Somerset is a lovely place to live with the stunning Somerset Levels, Quantock Hills and Blackdowns on your doorstep.
