Trident College is in an extraordinary location, in the middle of a beautiful nature reserve and game park in the north-west of Zambia. Our boarding and day secondary pupils sit Cambridge international exams up to IGCSE, AS and A level, and participate in an enviable range of co-curricular activities and sports, making the most of their natural surroundings and modern facilities. Trident has been operating since 2013 and is currently home to more than 260 girls and boys; we are rapidly becoming the boarding school of choice in Zambia, and a preferred option for parents and pupils throughout southern Africa. The school is based in Solwezi and is the figurehead of a vibrant community of schools in the area. 

Deputy Head

A rare opportunity has arisen to join the dynamic leadership team at Trident College in Zambia. We offer an internationally competitive package for an initial two-year contract renewable by mutual agreement. Applicants for this post must be suitably qualified with a relevant degree and teaching qualification. 

As Deputy Head, you would be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and have a full share in policy formulation and decision making, including taking responsibility for student welfare and for good relationships with Governors, parents, staff and all those involved with the College. You will teach approximately 40% of a timetable

You would be required to deputise for the Head when required, and to ensure that the College runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis, while leading a team of dedicated professionals in managing the following key areas:

• Pastoral Care & Discipline

• Safeguarding 

• Extensive Co-Curricular Programme

• Boarding

• Systems Administration 

• Planning

Trident College Solwezi forms part of the Trident Group schools which is made up of two preparatory schools and the College. Trident Schools are, in turn, operated by Educore Services, a leading provider of independent schooling in Zambia

Qualifications and other Requirements

The minimum requirement is a bachelor’s degree with a postgraduate teaching diploma and current registration as a teacher. The successful candidate will have five years’ experience in a middle or senior management position and be highly computer literate.

Commencement date: Preferably 1 September 2020, but no later than 1 January 2021.
