Al Riyadh School requires an outstanding  and innovative Deputy Head of Whole School Teaching & Learning, to join their impressive Charter School from August 2022.


Deputy Head of Whole School Teaching & Learning 

  • The core purpose of this position is to raise the standard of teaching and learning across the school and to develop and implement policies and practices within the academic programmes that lead to improved classroom practice and student outcomes.
  • The school will be proceeding with International Baccalaureate  (IB) candidacy and the successful candidate will have a leading role in this project as well as the academic component of other inspections and accreditations.
  • The position covers students across the whole school, currently planned KG1 -Grade 9 next academic year, in order to  share best practice, ensure consistency and develop a coherent learning experience for students as they move through  the school.
  • The Deputy Head, Whole School Teaching and learning will be a key player in teacher appraisal processes, talent  management and recruitment of teachers.

Al Riyadh School - A Taaleem Charter School

Al Riyadh School delivers the American Curriculum (NY Standards) and is situated on a purpose built campus, welcoming over 3,500 students from KG1 to Grade 8. The school boasts state-of-the-art facilities and offers competitive packages to its international employees. 

We are seeking an outstanding, dedicated and resilient Deputy Head of Whole School Teaching & Learning who is committed to the long-term goals of this project.  We would like to recruit someone who believes they can make a difference to their students, who understands that change is a process and who wants to take an active role in sharing their expertise as the team moves towards achieving its shared goals.

The projected growth of the Taaleem Branch Charter School Project will offer a broad range of opportunities in the coming years.  


Position Requirements:

Education: 

  • B.Ed., BA or bachelor’s degree plus teaching qualification 
  • Middle Leadership qualification 

Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years' teaching experience
  • A minimum of 4 years Senior/Middle Leadership that has included line management of others
  • Experience within a K-12 school, and large school (1000 student+) setting
  • Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate
  • Familiarity with accreditation and inspection procedures
  • Experience with implementing national curriculum standards frameworks
  • Experience with external testing processes highly desirable
