The Governors are seeking to appoint a dynamic, creative and highly motivated teacher to support the strategic development of our school. This post is an exciting opportunity for anyone aspiring towards leadership and involves a mixture of class teaching and leadership time. Milefield is a rapidly improving Primary school that is working hard to continue to build on its successes and to provide an excellent education for all children. We are very fortunate to have a talented and creative group of teachers and teaching assistants who plan a curriculum that engages our pupils’ curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. 

  

We are looking for a Deputy Headteacher who:

  • Is an excellent classroom practitioner who can inspire, mentor and motivate others to be the same 
  • Is dynamic, energetic and passionate about education 
  • A warm and welcoming individual who understands the importance of care, support and nurturing of our children 
  • Can build on the school’s achievements and drive future developments forward 
  • Has a strong commitment to raising standards of teaching and learning to outstanding 
  • The ability to work in partnership with the Acting Headteacher and leadership team to support the strategic development of the school 
  • The personality and leadership skills to motivate and inspire a dedicated staff 
  • Management experience, good organisational and interpersonal skills 
  • A commitment to inclusion, innovation and creativity 
  • Are aspiring to future further leadership roles 
  • Will strive to make learning fun and relevant 
  • Has vision, energy and a sense of humour

Milefield Primary School is situated in the village of Grimethorpe close to the town of Barnsley. The school contains a specialised Early Years Unit for foundation and reception children, separate classes for Key Stage 1, Year 1, mixed Year 1/2 and Year 2, and seperate classes for Key Stage 2, Years 3, mixed year 3/4, year 4, 5 and 6.

Milefield also contains a Children's Centre providing a range of services for children and families.
