Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Deputy Head with the enthusiasm and leadership expertise to help us move forwards on our ambitious improvement journey. The right person for the job will be committed to inclusion and will know how to ensure that our pastoral systems and ethos bring out the best in our students. 

The ideal candidate will:

Have proven leadership experience, with a track record of positively impacting on student outcomes and successfully leading whole school improvement strategies.

Have the drive to make a real difference to the lives of pupils in an area of disadvantage.

Be a robust and resilient leader, committed to going above and beyond to ensure rapid school improvement in a challenging environment.

Be an excellent teacher who is able to instil a love of learning in young people.

Demonstrate excellent behaviour management and pastoral support strategies, contributing to positive behaviour for learning and inclusive practice.

Be committed to working with all students, parents and staff to raise expectations and standards.

Have experience of effective coaching, mentoring and working alongside colleagues, contributing to a culture where every colleague believes they need to improve, not because they are not good enough, but because they can be even better.

Know how to lead effective quality assurance that contributes to professional learning and Improvement.

Demonstrate strong attributes that will contribute to a high - performing senior leadership team.
