We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Deputy Headteacher, with proven experience of delivering strategic impact at a whole school level, to join our experienced and supportive Senior Leadership Team. This role will provide an exciting and challenging opportunity for a current Deputy Headteacher or an ambitious Assistant Headteacher looking for the next step in their career. The role will provide leadership and oversight of our Curriculum, and the systems and processes which ensure it is implemented effectively. This will include rigorous evaluation of its impact on pupils and their progress. 

We are looking to appoint a Deputy Headteacher who has:

  • clear alignment with our vision and ambition for the young people we serve and whose leadership places children firmly at the centre;
  • a thorough understanding of the educational landscape and implications for 11-19 schools;
  • the ability to develop and implement plans that will ensure our curriculum is empowering, accessible and meets the needs of all pupils;
  • knowledge and experience of curriculum design, assessment and timetabling;
  • a track record of delivering excellent levels of achievement as a teacher and leader;
  • a detailed understanding of how effective assessment can maximise pupil progress;
  • the drive, commitment and personal resilience to make a tangible difference as a Deputy Headteacher in an ambitious and rapidly improving school;
  • the integrity, presence and emotional intelligence necessary to inspire confidence from staff, pupils and parents and to reflect at all times our ethos and values.

Longcroft School and Sixth Form is a mixed non-selective, non-denominational, comprehensive secondary school, situated in Beverley in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

The school, which was officially opened in May 1951, is situated on a 50-acre site. The recently refurbished school buildings are surrounded by extensive green areas and sports pitches, along with an all-weather 3G pitch.
