Governors are seeking an outstanding candidate to join the senior leadership team of our ‘Outstanding’ school. Judged ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in 2010 and, further endorsed with a section 8 inspection in February 2020, Yardleys is a thriving, vibrant and heavily oversubscribed 11-16 multi-ethnic stand-alone academy in Birmingham with 933 students on roll. The diversity of the school population reflects the rich, cultural mix of the local area.

Yardleys is consistently in the top 20% of schools nationally and last validated data (2019) showed a progress 8 score of +0.48.

We are looking for our new Deputy Headteacher to have:
• an exemplary record of sustained improvement and senior leadership in a secondary school
• a belief in the power of education to transform lives and improve social mobility
• the ability to lead our talented team of middle leaders in the areas of curriculum development and pedagogy
• creativity, clarity of vision and a successful track record of leading change
• a clear and committed strategic vision, combined with highly effective communication skills that will inspire, motivate and develop heads of faculty and heads of department
• a commitment to research and development and developing staff at all levels
