At Monkwick, we are a friendly school and we pride ourselves on our warm and caring family atmosphere, as well as high educational standards.

We have 221 pupils who enjoy a safe and positive learning environment which is situated in the middle of the Monkwick Housing estate.  As a result we have strong links with the local community and constantly promote a positive attitude towards the value and importance of education; our motto is 'Inspiring Lifelong Learners'.

Our environment is a real feature of our school, and we are lucky that the school is in a beautifull setting.  We have large areas of grassland which support an 'Activity Trim Trail', a very popular 'Tyre Park' and a large sports field for ball games.  The school is fortunate to have a border of mature trees which offer shade to its playing field, we also have a fenced area set aside as a 'Nature Zone'. This area has many more mature trees and shrubs which are an ideal habitat for small creatures, birds and mini-beasts.  Our after school 'Gardening Club' has an area of raised beds and maturing fruit trees, this club is very popular with teachers, children and parents too; especially when the children take their produce home.
