The Derby High School in Bury, Greater Manchester, is seeking to appoint a Deputy Headteacher for Curriculum and Standards. They are looking for an exceptional leader who is passionately committed to promoting the highest standards of achievement for all. The salary for this post will be Leadership Range L18-L22 £59,857 - £66,017 per annum.

The Derby High School is an over-subscribed 11-16 Co-Educational School situated in the heart of Bury, Greater Manchester. Year on year our students make exceptional progress and we are currently the highest performing school in Bury for Progress 8. We are an inclusive school serving a diverse student population who are a joy to be around. The leadership of the school at every level is a key strength and this was recognised by Ofsted in our most recent inspection. We boast a talented staff with a commitment to delivering the highest standards and who are overwhelmingly proud to belong to the school. The Derby High School EXCELLENCE, TRADITION, IMAGINATION

An oversubscribed 11-16 Co-Educational Comprehensive School (937 students currently on roll) situated in the North West of England in the heart of Bury, Greater Manchester. 

In 2014 the OFSTED report rated Leadership and Management as OUTSTANDING:

We are a school that offers amazing opportunities for our students. Operating as a Science and Arts College since 2003 we have fantastic facilities. Our multimillion pound Sports Hall, EXCEL, opened in 2015 complementing our expansive playing fields and pitches. Our bespoke performing Arts building, INSPIRE, exudes creativity incorporating media suites, a large drama studio and a sprung dance floor. Our latest innovation has been our DISCOVER, state of the art science labs, opened in 2017.

We offer a huge range of external excursions for all curriculum areas, including to local colleges and universities, challenging stereotypes, raising aspirations and engendering a sense of awe and wonder from the world around us. We are currently engaged in the development and design of a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths garden. Our curriculum is dynamic, challenging and engaging, enabling our students to excel in all areas.
