Job overview

Deputy Headteacher

Progress your career with a school which believes every child has the right to an education and to develop their talents

Belmont is a popular and successful school in Wealdstone, Harrow, North West London and is looking for a Deputy Headteacher to start in either April or September 2017. The position has arisen due to the retirement of our long serving Deputy Headteacher.

For this position we would welcome applications from ambitious, innovative and inspirational individuals who have a proven track record of leading on school improvement. This is an excellent opportunity for a current Deputy Headteacher or for an Assistant Headteacher looking to progress to the next level.

An opportunity to work with a diverse and dynamic group of children who are passionate about their learning

Here at Belmont we serve a very diverse, vibrant and harmonious community in Harrow Weald. The school ethos is underpinned by our commitment to children’s rights and responsibilities as set out in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. We promote the highest possible achievement for all of our pupils, whether it be academically or through physical or creative learning, and this is supported by our broad, relevant and exciting curriculum. Belmont is a school where you are allowed to explore your own creativity and have ownership of the curriculum.

We have just reached the end of a major building programme to support our expansion and we now have a fantastic new Early Years department, outdoor learning environment, six additional classrooms plus new group teaching rooms, an expanded hall and a new state of the art kitchen.

Our commitment to staff development speaks for itself

Our Belmont motto is ‘Stronger Together’ and we promote this through our staff teams, wellbeing support and collaborative working across Key Stages for staff and pupils. In recent years we have developed and “grown” our middle and senior leadership teams, who work collaboratively to monitor, review and support the development of the school.  We know that investing in our staff is the most important priority in order to bring about better outcomes for pupils. We offer a bespoke CPD programme both within the school and alongside Harrow’s School Improvement Partnership.
