Following the promotion of the current post holder to Headteacher at another school, the governors of Crawshawbooth Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic Deputy Headteacher from September 2021 who has the ability to be a leader of learning, modelling excellence and inspiring children and staff.

Crawshawbooth Primary School is a large community school within a pleasant area of Rossendale with 306 children currently on roll. There are eleven classes with vertical groupings and an admission number of 45 pupils per year group. We pride ourselves on the good reputation of the school within the community. We have extremely supportive parents who value our rich and broad curriculum, making use of our fantastic Outdoor Studio and Secret Garden. 

We are looking for a highly professional person who is an outstanding teacher, with high expectations for the progress that pupils can make and a desire to further improve standards even further by leading and supporting colleagues.

The Governing Body is looking for a Deputy Headteacher who:

- is an outstanding classroom teacher, able to inspire children to become life-long learners and able to support ambitious teaching & learning of their colleagues

- has high expectations and will challenge, inspire and encourage staff to achieve the best outcomes for themselves and our children

- is organised and able to carry out both the non-teaching and teaching role of the Deputy Headteacher effectively

- is a leader of learning who has an excellent understanding of child development through the primary phases

- has an excellent understanding of behaviour management and is able to positively support a variety of behaviours

- has the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders and the wider community

- has the ability to be flexible and adapt to unknown situations quickly and effectively in a calm and considered way.

The post you are applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013). If successful you will be required to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for a 'disclosure'.
