The school is served by the Parish church of St Mary and St Augustine’s with a beautiful and thriving church in the centre of town. The school has a calm and nurturing ethos, which is rooted in the strong Catholic Values that drive both the pastoral and academic fulfilment of all stakeholders who work hard to ‘flourish in the footsteps of Jesus.’

St. Augustine’s is on a journey of rapid development which is being driven by a new, dynamic headteacher with excellent support from St Thérèse of Lisieux Catholic Multi Academy Trust.

The school now has an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking and experienced deputy headteacher with a bright and positive outlook, who will work together with the headteacher and staff team to continue to support the school and pupils in going from strength to strength.

Much work has been done in creating and mapping an inspiring curriculum this year, which the new deputy headteacher will now coordinate, refine and embed. They will also be in charge of assessment across the school, working with the teachers and SENCO to identify needs, support and challenge all pupils to actively engage in learning so that they fulfil their potential, enjoy and thrive in all aspects of school life.

Our vision and values lie at the core of everything we do in school. They underpin our relationships, teaching and learning and provide an environment in which children can flourish. Our chosen Catholic Virtues are rooted in the teachings of Christ and represent everything Jesus said, everything he did and everything he told us to do. These virtues guide our thinking and our behaviour at St. Augustine's and we encourage all children to remain faithful to them in their words and actions towards others.
