Islamia Primary School is a two form entry vibrant multi-cultural school in North West London. The school was judged to be ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted in March 2013.

We are on a journey to become an ‘Outstanding’ school and the Governors are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Deputy Headteacher to join our highly dedicated Senior Leadership Team. The prospective candidate should be an ambitious leader and outstanding primary practitioner who has the experience to demonstrate success in driving forward improvement to achieve excellence in education to impact on raising pupil attainment as well as the skills to model and coach colleagues to maintain high quality teaching and learning opportunities.

The role will focus on raising standards with a partial teaching commitment and curriculum responsibilities (to be negotiated). The successful candidate will have the opportunity for significant leadership and management responsibilities within this vibrant urban school.

About Islamia Primary School

Islamia Primary School (VA) is a mixed two form entry primary school situated in Queen's Park, North-West London. There are 420 students at the school, aged between 4 and 11. The school is extremely popular and heavily over subscribed.    

Islamia Primary School was established in 1983 by Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens), the world renowned singer/songwriter. Islamia Primary School was the first Muslim faith school in the country to receive full funding from the government.

Vision and values  

Islamia Primary School aims to ensure that all pupils receive a holistic education and develop an understanding of the Islamic faith and other religions, free from distortion, misconception or extremism. The primary school wishes for children to achieve to the best of their ability in a loving and caring environment, with the help of a strong partnership between teachers, parents and the local community. 

Children are taught to explore their spiritual connection with Allah and leave with a proficiency in Arabic and a love for the Qur’an. Teachers promote six core values: respect, love, patience, striving, sharing and honesty. Islamia Primary School has a broad curriculum, teaching skills such as coding to enable children to be active citizens in the modern world.
