Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, passionate and highly committed Deputy Headteacher to work with the Headteacher to oversee and provide strategic leadership of all aspects of the curriculum, teaching and learning, and raising achievement.

This is a new role which has been created to meet the needs of a school that has grown rapidly over the past 5 years, and is an exciting opportunity to join a strong and committed leadership team to work alongside a highly supportive governing body, and an incredible group of staff who will always go the extra mile for our students.

We are looking for someone to join the team who is a role model for excellent teaching, who can inspire and motivate both staff and students to achieve their best possible outcomes, who can think and plan strategically, with both vision and attention to detail, and who has proven senior leadership experience and a track record of success.

If you have all of these qualities, are aligned with our values, and are absolutely committed to overcoming the barriers of educational disadvantage, then we want to hear from you.

Visits to the school ahead of applying are welcome and encouraged - arrangements for this can be found within the application pack.

A completed application form, criminal records declaration form and equalities monitoring form must be submitted by 9am on Monday 6th February to: heather.bell@churchillcc.org. Please note that we do not accept CVs. The interviews will take place week commencing 13th February.

Churchill Community College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. As such an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure will be sought along with other relevant employment checks deemed appropriate.

Churchill Community College is an 11-18yrs comprehensive school in North Tyneside.

Churchill is very much a community school, and whilst the community we serve is enormously proud and supportive of the school, a significant proportion of our students come from low income or deprived households, with more than 40% of our cohort eligible for the Pupil Premium.

We aim to make all our young people feel completely safe, secure, valued and appreciative of the many opportunities their education here can afford them.

We set high standards in all areas and expect the very best from all members of our learning community. In return, we aim to provide excellent teaching and up-to-date curriculum provision with high quality pastoral care and an outstanding range of opportunities beyond the classroom for all learners. We believe these are the hallmarks of a truly successful school.
