Salary: L23 – L28 OLWA depending on qualifications and experience

Who we are

Odyssey Trust for Education is the innovative collaboration between the high performing Townley Grammar School and Erith Secondary Modern school, now known as King Henry School.  Highlighted by Nick Gibb as an example of best practice and featured in the ground-breaking documentary, “Grammar Schools: Who Will Get In?”

We strive to develop and maintain an environment where students are valued, their needs are met and they are given the opportunity to reach their full potential academically and socially. We focus on character education, inclusion and student mental health.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking an ambitious Deputy Head to be part of our Odyssey.

Appointed to the new King Henry School, you will play a key role in transforming the lives and life chances of the young people at King Henry with the unprecedented support of Townley Grammar School.

We want to hear from dynamic and passionate individuals with knowledge of working with young people with SEN or emotional behavioural difficulties, whether in mainstream or special provision. We are looking for someone who feels they can join our leadership team, make an impact and knows how to bring a creative and innovative approach to improving performance and support for our students and their families.

An excellent communicator, you will act as an ambassador for the school and have demonstrable experience of working in partnership with parents, Local Authorities and other stakeholders.

If you are a truly inspirational, highly-motivated and forward thinking leader, with the energy and passion to change lives coupled with proven experience of whole school development and improvement, this could be an excellent opportunity for you.

This role would suit an experienced Deputy Head seeking a new challenge or an Assistant Head who is ambitious for the next stage in their career.

In return for your experience and commitment we offer the Teachers’ Pension scheme, outstanding career opportunities, access to a network of great senior colleagues within Odyssey Trust for Education and the chance to shape the future and ongoing development of the school.

The closing date for all applications is Sunday 14th October 2018.

Interviews will take place as soon as can be arranged and may be in the week commencing Monday 22nd  October 2018.

Odyssey Trust for Education is committed to the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All successful applicants will be subject to fully Enhanced DBS check and robust pre-employment checks.
