The Governing Body of Mill Green School are seeking to appoint a talented, dedicated and inspirational Deputy Headteacher who shares in our determination to transform the life chances of our wonderful student body.

This is an exciting opportunity to take a pivotal, non-teaching role in an Outstanding 14-19 Community Special School, supporting the Headteacher in shaping the future of the school, to provide outstanding outcomes for young people. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, the successful candidate will work to promote a culture of person-centered learning, where young people experience a positive and enriching school life that prepares them on their journey to adulthood.

The successful candidate will be an excellent and innovative practitioner who is able to demonstrate a strong track record as an effective strategic leader who is committed to ensuring that all young people achieve their full potential. Mill Green School are looking for an individual who will be tireless in his or her pursuit of excellence in all areas, being creative, flexible and solution focused.

You will be outward facing to continue to develop the excellent links that are already in place and further strengthen the unique relationship Mill Green has with the local educational and business community.

We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates unconditional positive regard for young people and who has the highest expectations of themselves and others. You will be joining a team of highly skilled and committed professionals who are relentless in the pursuit of excellence to improve the life chances of our students.

The role will focus upon the strategic leadership and assigned aspects of whole school development planning including curriculum design, monitoring and assessment, pupil progress and transition.

The governing body is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The Deputy Headteacher must ensure that the highest priority is given to following the guidance and regulations relating to safeguarding and child protection. Appointment is subject to satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks in relation to criminal and child protection matters.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and encouraged.
