Tes is supporting the appointment of a Deputy Headteacher to join a School based in Stoke-on-Trent.

They are seeking an enthusiastic committed professional to join them as a Deputy Headteacher

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an active participant of the school leadership team
  • Lead by example, holding and articulating clear values and moral purpose, and focusing on providing excellent education for all pupils
  • Assist the Headteacher in the strategic leadership and management of the school
  • Assist the Headteacher in the day to day organisation and management of the school
  • Support and/or represent the Headteacher at meetings as and when required
  • Deputise for the Headteacher in their absence from the school. A Deputy Headteacher must undertake their professional duties to the extent required by the Headteacher
  • Undertake such duties as delegated by the Headteacher
  • Be responsible for the standards and curriculum of all pupils including monitoring of progress towards achievement
  • Manage staff and resources within the school
  • Play a major role, under the overall direction of the Headteacher, in formulating, implementing and reviewing the School Development Plan
  • Deputy Designated Safeguarding lead

Their ideal candidate will have:

  • Have a proven track record of school improvement and leadership
  • Are currently working as a Senior Leader looking for their next challenge
  • Have extensive understanding of the OFSTED framework and independent school standards
  • Can demonstrate leadership on safeguarding, curriculum planning, and staff management
  • Are exceptional practitioners capable of improving the teaching and learning across a school
  • Are leaders in behaviour management and can implement good behaviour standards across the whole school setting
  • Have a thorough understanding of the SEND code of practice and supporting students with SEND
  • Can evidence a working understanding of Keeping Children Safe in Education

They are a small independent school who support students which may have previously experienced difficulties accessing in their education They are committed to ensuring that all students learn and are engaged in the appropriate programme of study, which allows them to successfully re-engage with education and to achieve their very best outcomes.

They offer a very broad and balanced curriculum that enables pupils to undertake examinations and gain qualifications including GCSE’s, BTECs and functional skills, they also have access to a wide range of adventurous subjects which include water sports, mountain biking, archery, horse-riding etc.
