Job overview

Your Opportunity

As a consequence of the promotion of our Deputy Headteacher to Head of School following the restructure of the leadership of our school, we are seeking to appoint two Deputy Headteachers who will work closely with the Head of School and Executive Headteacher to take the school to even greater heights.

We are looking for empathetic, emotionally intelligent and ambitious leaders to join us, who are driven by a clear moral purpose and a passion for working with young people, and who take great pleasure and joy from doing so. You must be able to mentor, to coach, to challenge and to support our staff, who hold the current Leadership Team in very high regard because of our belief in transparency, integrity and honesty.

Our new Deputy Headteachers should expect to lead on a varied portfolio of responsibilities, information on which you will find in the attached application pack. Our ideal candidate will either be a successful Assistant Head seeking promotion to Deputy Headship, or an experienced Deputy looking for a second post

About Rosebery School

Rosebery is a vibrant and stimulating place to work. We achieve outstanding outcomes for our students as a result of our clarity of purpose, our commitment to individual support and the hard work undertaken by all members of our community. This was recognised by Ofsted in 2017 when we were graded outstanding in all areas, and by our record of exam success, including the last formal exam series in 2019, which led to a Progress 8 score of 0.89 which placed us in the top 100 schools in the country. However, there is still much to do and you will have the opportunity to make a considerable impact on the future direction of this already highly successful, oversubscribed and ambitious school which is a member of the GLF Schools Trust.

We set high expectations for all, but this is accompanied by a support system for students and staff which includes universal access to coaching and mentoring, significant opportunities for individualised personal, academic and professional development and a culture which emphasises kindness and integrity above all.

We are committed to creating a happy, purposeful and secure environment which provides the opportunity for all to develop and grow; to build confidence and self-belief; and to be enriched and stimulated so that everyone plays an active and positive part of the Rosebery, Epsom and wider communities.

We encourage you to look at our website for further information. Socially distant visits to school are possible and discussions via MS Teams or Google with us are encouraged. We very much appreciate that during these very challenging times you will want to gather as much information as you can, in the absence of being able to see the school ‘in action’, and we will support you in any way we can to do that. Please contact Lesley Broome, our HR Officer, to discuss opportunities for meeting with us.
