Deputy Headteacher

Kelmscott SchoolWaltham Forest

Many thanks for showing an interest in the vacant Deputy Headteacher role here at Kelmscott School. Kelmscott is a kind, caring and aspirational local authority school on a significant upward trajectory, you would be joining the school at a very exciting time. We are highly ambitious for all of our school community and we are fully committed to transforming the lives of young people, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds. A community school in every sense of the word, situated right in the heart of Walthamstow, E17.

The vacant role was created following my appointment, from Deputy Headteacher at Kelmscott, to Headteacher in September 2019. Despite the challenges of the last twelve months, we have made considerable progress as a school, some of which was captured in our most recent OFSTED inspection in January 2020.

This appointment is crucial for us as we continue to strive for excellence in all areas of our provision. The successful candidate will work alongside the exceptional and highly experienced current Deputy Headteacher, who is part of a strong, dynamic and dedicated senior team comprising, in addition, four Assistant Headteachers and the School Business Manager.

We have generated lots of momentum these past two years and the successful candidate will play a key role in continuing to shape our growing school. I know this choice is an important one for you too. You'll be looking for a school that can develop you further professionally and a school where you can make a real difference – I can assure you of both.

Many of the best leaders I know are quite modest by nature so may find the next paragraph a little challenging, as they self-reflect. Nonetheless, we are seeking an inspiring, motivated, hard-working and visionary individual who has the integrity, moral purpose and emotional intelligence to settle quickly into our team. We are looking for an exceptional teacher as well as someone who has a creative and strategic approach to ideas and is able to translate those ideas into practice, seeing them through to completion.

This role can be tailored to the strengths of the successful candidate; we can't wait to hear all about you.

We invite potential applicants to visit our school, in a Covid secure way. If you wish to visit, please contact Akin Nidai on the email address below. Visits will be held on Wednesday 31st March 2021.
