Following the promotion of the current post holder to Headship the Governors of St Gregory’s Voluntary Aided Catholic High School invite applications from highly motivated and successful practising Catholic teachers for the post of Deputy Headteacher.

The responsibilities associated with this post will be for the use of data to establish benchmarks and set targets, monitoring and evaluating pupil progress and curriculum development. Other responsibilities will depend on the successful candidate’s strengths and interests.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the innovative senior leadership team at a rapidly improving school (Ofsted December 2014). St Gregory’s is fully subscribed in years 7 and 8 with a good reputation in the local community, a hard working and committed staff, governors who are ambitious for the school and in partnership with the local Authority and Archdiocese are developing a building programme that is currently at the design stage.

 Applicants must have:

  • a supportive reference from a priest in the parish of regular worship and a commitment to and understanding of Catholic education
  • a proven track record of leadership with a commitment to ensuring the highest possible standards of pupils progress and achievement
  • demonstrated that they are an outstanding classroom practitioner
  • high expectations and personal skills that support and challenge all staff to share the commitment for continuous improvement
  • experience in implementing change and leading teams in achieving measurable impact and improved outcomes for pupils.

St Gregory’s Catholic High School is a mixed Roman Catholic secondary school for pupils aged 11-16. It is located in Warrington, Cheshire, and has about 950 pupils. It is a voluntary aided school.
