Job overview

Newman RC College is an inclusive 11-16 voluntary aided school located in Oldham, ten minutes from Manchester city centre and the breath-taking Pennines. The school is situated in a new building with state-of-the-art facilities and enjoys excellent transport links. We are heavily oversubscribed, judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted in 2016 and subsequently awarded Greater Manchester School of the Year by Manchester Evening News.

We are blessed to represent a ‘close-knit’, diverse and talented catholic community that sees relationships with students and their families as integral to the success of every individual, as well as the belief that there are no limits to a child’s potential, irrespective of background.

We are seeking to appoint a Deputy Headteacher who is highly ambitious for all students, a proactive and visible leader with proven credentials in pastoral care. Most importantly, you will possess the right values; someone who witnesses to the benefits of service as a vocation, rather than simply a job.

We are looking for a practising Catholic who is an inspirational leader and with a proven track record in Senior Leadership.

This post is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious Assistant or Deputy Headteacher to join the newly appointed Headteacher and, with the help of a highly motivated Senior Leadership Team, embark together on a new and vibrant chapter in the life of Newman College.

Closing date: Monday 25 March 2019 at 12 Noon

Shortlisting: Thursday 28 March 2019

Interviews: Wednesday 3 and Thursday 4 April 2019

We would encourage you to visit and see the culture we have and why it supports all who come in to contact with it.
