Job overview

As Deputy Pastoral Care Manager at Hall Cliffe School, you’ll be instrumental in creating a setting where a young person in crisis can feel safe.  You’ll be part of a team helping to transform the lives of young people with SEN of primary and secondary ages – educating, inspiring, engaging and realising their potential.

That’s why we’re looking for someone who’s pretty unique. Our new Deputy Pastoral Manager will be committed to fulfilling the potential of each and every one of our Young People, no matter what their educational needs (including emotional and social difficulties, autistic spectrum conditions and speech and language communication difficulties), you share our belief that all young people are capable of achieving great things.

Across Hall Cliffe School and Hall Cliffe Vocational Centre, 104 boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 16 are catered for in a day school environment. The school is located in a beautiful Grade 2 listed building, with state of the art facilities, which allow us to deliver a creative curriculum. Alongside our academic subjects, our young people have access to our brand new, off site Vocational Centre that opened in September 2018. We offer courses such as Motor Vehicle, Construction and Hair and Beauty, allowing our young people to grow and reach their full potential.

For children and young people with complex, challenging needs, the level of care and education must go above and beyond. That’s what drives us, here at Witherslack Group. We are a leading provider of specialist education and care for children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, communication difficulties, complex learning needs and challenging behaviours. We have a reputation for excellence and of achieving the highest possible outcomes. In short, we’re enhancing life opportunities.

Reward

We know you’re going to do great things. For your hard work and commitment, we want to reward you with a salary and benefits package that’s among the best in our sector. You’ll receive a competitive salary, contributory pension (matched up to 5%) and comprehensive induction and ongoing training, as well as extensive Group staff benefits such as Medicash Health Plan/Employee Assistance and Cycle to Work Scheme. Witherslack conducts DBS Enhanced checks and covers the costs for all new employees.

Holidays: 35 days a year with school holidays accrued from working 42.6 hours rather than 37.

Visits to the school prior to application are encouraged. For further information please contact Gillian Black - Administrator.

The Witherslack Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its young people. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check. We are an equal opportunities employer welcoming applications from all sections of the community.
