Job overview

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced senior leader to help shape the future of the City of Peterborough Academy. This position is available from Easter or September 2020, following the internal promotion of the current Deputy Principal.

About us

The City of Peterborough Academy was opened in September 2013 by Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT) after a £13.8m capital build. Based on Reeves Way in Peterborough, the academy has quickly grown from strength to strength. A dedicated team of staff aim to help support every child in reaching their full potential. Additionally, we have been described as a truly ‘inclusive school’ at our recent National Inclusion Quality Mark inspection and have also been awarded 'Centre of Excellence Status'.

Both our Academy and Greenwood Academies Trust are committed to supporting pupils and staff alike. Providing pupils with the highest-quality education is of the utmost importance but we recognise that in order to achieve this, teachers and staff must be properly supported with strong leadership, a climate of trust, research and innovation, and ongoing CPD opportunities.

About you

You will be an exceptional senior leader with a demonstrable commitment to helping all pupils achieve their best, despite their background. With high expectations for behaviour, you will motivate staff and pupils through high quality leadership and management. You will be an innovative manager, able to analyse and interpret Academy data to support clear, strategic decisions. You will be well supported by the senior leadership team at the Academy and the Education Support Team of the Trust, to ensure that the overall Academy vision is achieved.

We are looking for someone that is dedicated to providing pupils with the best education possible and has the vision, passion and proven track record in school improvement to ensure significant improvements in pupil performance across the Academy. Great teamwork, leadership and communication skills are a must, along with an effective management style that encourages innovation and confidence and builds upon the positive culture amongst staff.

In return

You will be joining a Trust that is dedicated to valuing and developing its workforce through ensuring a fair workload and offering access to CPD opportunities through the Greenwood Learning Alliance. You will be able to share specialist best practice and work collaboratively with colleagues in other academies, locally and across the East Midlands, and be fully supported by our Education Support Team.

If you share our values and wish to be part of a leading education provider, we would welcome your application.

Closing date: 2nd February 2020.

If this post attracts sufficient interest before the closing date, we may decide to close this vacancy at an earlier date, so an early application is advised.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks, therefore, all posts within the Trust are subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

The Trust welcomes applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, age or sexual orientation.
