High Close School is a flourishing residential and day special school catering for up to 94 young people with a complex range of SEMH and Speech, Language and Communication needs. Ofsted has judged education to be 'Good’ (February 2018) and care to be ‘Outstanding’ (July 2018) and we are now working towards becoming outstanding in all areas.
We are seeking an ambitious and inspirational Deputy Principal with high expectations of learning and behaviour to lead Teaching and Learning across the school.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Leader:
- An excellent practitioner with the highest expectations of pupils’ attainment and behaviour.
- Has outstanding leadership skills managing, motivating and challenging staff through leading by example.
- Ready for the challenge of Senior Leadership in a day and residential special school.
- Proven track record in school improvement.
- Able to build positive relationships at all levels, wanting to make a difference to the lives of young people.
- Has the passion and vision to work as part of a team in driving changes and promoting excellence.
- Able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with staff, parents, governors and the community.
- Understand the importance and promote the principles of inclusion and safeguarding.

High Close School is a weekly boarding residential and day special school catering for young people with a complex range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
We cater for young people in KS2, KS3 and KS4. We offer a traditional school experience equivalent to mainstream with outcomes that includes recognised qualifications at the end of KS4. We do this in small classes with high levels of pastoral care and support.
