Values and vision

Braunton Academy aims to promote and nurture a true love of learning amongst its students. The school also aims to enable its students’ personal growth through, among other things, promoting students’ spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development through a full understanding of how Citizenship and PSHEE contribute to preparation for the opportunities, responsibilities, and experiences of life. The school is also keen to embrace new technologies which maximise the effectiveness of learning.

There is also a desire to promote democracy at the school. Students have many opportunities for their voices to be heard. The school has academy and house councils which meet regularly to discuss issues raised by either the students or staff in tutor group meetings. The academy council even has its own budget and is able to genuinely effect change within the school.
