We are looking for a Deputy Team Leader to join Bramfield House School care team. Working in one of our residential settings. Someone with a holistic and integrated approach to care, education and clinical services would be perfect for this role.

About the School

Located in rural Suffolk, Bramfield House School is an independent residential special educational needs school for boys aged 7 – 16 years who have social, emotional, mental health, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviours.

The School has a committed and innovative multidisciplinary team, extensive site and excellent facilities to support both learning and extra-curricular activities; we are in a great position to provide our pupils with the best education and care possible. We need highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals who want to make a real difference.

Our dedicated teamwork together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life. We pride ourselves in steering children in the right direction, nurturing aspiration to progress them both academically and socially to encourage them to take pride in their achievements. Socially, we build confidence in our students so they are able to have a greater understanding of the wider community in which they live.

About the Role

The Deputy Team Leader role is an operational management role in one of the two residential settings at Bramfield House. Reporting into the Senior Team Leader, this role is ideally for an experienced residential worker wanting to make the first steps in to management. Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone who has had successful experience as a residential care worker within a children or young person’s care environment. Pervious management experience would be a bonus. You should have a positive work ethic and be able to work effectively to produce an effective leadership team.

You will be working with a bubbly team of skilled staff who have a lot of experience working with children with social and emotional needs. Good communication, administrative skills and a focus on the welfare of children is essential.

You should have an extensive knowledge surrounding safeguarding of children and young people. We want someone who places a focus on the positive outcomes of our children and takes responsibility for helping improve the lives of our young people.

While experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs is desirable, the right motivation and personal qualities are just as important.

Bramfield House School stands in magnificent grounds and gives pupils extraordinary educational opportunities through its innovative, successful teaching approach inside and outside the classroom.

The rural location, just off the main A12 in Suffolk, attracts interest for places across East Anglia to achieve happiness and success for even the most reluctant learners and vulnerable pupils.

The boys are taught in small, informal and relaxed classes, with clear structures in place. They forge strong working relationships with teachers and staff, who encourage their self-confidence and self esteem through stimulating and realistic targets. Previous failure is replaced with a positive pattern of success and quantifiable educational achievements.

As well as practical and creative lessons on site, including sports pitches and an RHS accredited horticulture department, Bramfield House offers the boys a huge variety of opportunities for education outside the classroom, including sailing qualifications on the Norfolk Broads, study along the East Anglian coastline, and numerous field trips.

Securing a weekly boarding place at Bramfield House will ensure that progress can be accelerated with a 24-hour, wraparound curriculum. The comfortable boarding facilities are located in the main house until the boys reach Years 10 and 11, when the emphasis develops towards semi-independent living, and preparation for life at college, an apprenticeship, university or work.

As well as academic, educational progress, Bramfield House School develops self- esteem, self confidence to ensure its pupils can go on to lead meaningful and successful adult lives.
