This role provides an exciting career opportunity to lead specialist, highly committed and enthusiastic staff towards increased excellence. We are seeking a talented, innovative practitioner with a passion for Design and Technology and who can teach is at KS3, KS4 and KS5, to better prepare students for further education and employment. 

Design and Technology is a successful and popular subject within the school, attracting consistently high student numbers at KS4. The department is well resourced in a dedicated separate block containing 5 specialist Design and Technology classrooms. There are technicians who support in lessons as well as managing and preparing resources. Student work is showcased at the end of the year in an exhibition, which is open to the public. We are looking for a passionate leader to thrive in our creative environment by leading on annual set design projects and other whole school projects.

The successful candidate will be asked to provide professional leadership and management of the subject area to secure quality first teaching and will be accountable for student outcomes and the improved progress of all students.

Whitefield is a rapidly improving school. Our examination results continue to rise year on year.
