37 Hrs Per Week, Term Time Plus Two weeks

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Design and Technology Technician at Smithills School, who will support teachers in delivering high quality practical work, inspiring students, and enabling them to develop a deeper understanding of Art & Design Technology. You will also maintain excellent standards of Health and Safety in all areas of the department.

The Art, Design Technology faculty is housed in a purpose built suite in the centre of the school and there are 6 large specialist rooms which are well equipped; rooms have direct access to the ICT network and PCs computers.  The rooms offer facilities for art and design, graphics, product design and food technology and hair and beauty.  The faculty is presently staffed by four specialist teachers.

The successful candidate will become part of this cohesive team and will be involved in the continual growth of Art, Design Technology throughout this vibrant school.

Smithills School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school situated in Bolton, Lancashire. There are approximately 1200 students at the school, between the ages of 11-16.

Smithills School converted to academy status in 2014 and is a member of the ConcertED multi-academy trust and the Bolton Learning Alliance.
