The role
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a forward thinking, dynamic, Design Department. The Department offers study within the fields of Product Design, Graphics Communications, Textiles, Fine Art and Food, with an ambition to expand into systems and control and engineering. The role requires you to provide preparatory and technical support to the teachers as well as assisting and guiding our KS3,4 and 5 pupils within their practical activities. You will play a vital role in ensuring that the young people in our school are given the best possible support and opportunities in order to thrive in their education and achieve all of their goals. The postholder will ensure all equipment is well maintained and monitored to make sure that students and staff are kept safe at all times.
About You
You will have an excellent work ethic and genuine interest in the fields within Design and Technology. The successful applicant should have high level communication skills and a good understanding of Design and Technology equipment and processes. A real desire and drive to ensure that our teachers and students receive outstanding support is a must and the successful candidate will strive to bring out the best in everyone. Effective engagement with department team members is a vital part of this role and applicants will need to demonstrate their ability to establish strong and positive relationships with all stakeholders whilst working flexibly to meet the needs of all of our young people. You will be adaptable with a great skill in identifying what needs to be done and taking your initiative. You will be approachable and professional with a skillset that can be utilized well and experience shared within the department.
United Learning
Bacon’s College joined United Learning in Spring 2018, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.
Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.
As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’
