Worth School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Design and Technology Technician who has some previous experience of the role or has engineering/product prototype workshop experience. 

The successful candidate will work closely with the D&T teachers to support a developing and successful new department. They will be required to prepare materials for teaching and learning, support lessons if required, maintain and replenish stock of materials and new equipment, and maintain existing machinery and equipment in the workshops to ensure the learners work safely. 

No formal qualifications are required to do this, however, experience/competence with maintenance aspects will be an advantage and detailed knowledge of safe working practices in relation to the handling and usage of hazardous equipment and tools is essential. Good IT knowledge is important and a willingness to use new technologies is essential. The successful candidate will have the ability to relate to young people and colleagues in a positive and constructive way as well as being able to work both as part of a team and unsupervised.
