Design Technology Teacher

International School Brunei is looking to recruit an outstanding  Design Technology teacher to join the Faculty of The Sciences from August 2022. The post involves the teaching of KS3, IGCSE and IBDP Design Technology (Resistant Materials and Graphic Products).   

Established in 1964, International School Brunei (ISB) has nearly 60 years of experience as a non-profit, vibrant, inclusive school. Today, ISB has over 1200 day and boarding students from 42 different nationalities and highly qualified teachers from all over the globe. In 2015, ISB moved to a bespoke, eco-friendly campus, nestled in primary rainforest, becoming one of the first schools in Asia to win the Green Flag Award. Academic results are excellent, allowing ISB graduates to gain entry to top universities all over the world.   

DT is a popular subject at ISB with high levels of attainment, enjoyment and engagement. All students follow an adapted British Curriculum at KS3, then can opt to study IGCSE DT (through Cambridge Assessment International Examinations) as an option subject in KS4. DT is offered as an IBDP Group 4 subject at Year 12 and Year 13, therefore forms part of the Secondary School Sciences Faculty.   

ISB is an inclusive school, therefore the successful candidate will need to have a wide range of pedagogical approaches to teaching and be able to deliver innovative and engaging lessons which engage all students.   

The successful candidate will have (minimum):   

• a B Ed. Teaching degree in a relevant field   
• a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a PGCE or equivalent teaching diploma    
• experience teaching Secondary Design Technology in either Resistant Materials or Graphic Products
