Job overview

DESIGN TECHNOLOGY TEACHER

Start: August 2022

We seek to appoint a highly innovative and inspirational Design Technology specialist who will help our school become a leading hub for authentic STEAM learning. We need an inventor, innovator, engineer, IT nerd, and general all-round risk taker. A particular ability in graphic design and/or resistant materials is an advantage.

Our school is an Apple Distinguished School. It has an on-going programme of investment in the area of educational and design technology. We are in the process of forging a close working partnership with HELP University, a leader in the field of research into artificial intelligence and machine learning in Malaysia. We are also developing a close partnership with industry to help provide more authentic, experiential learning experiences for our students.

The successful candidate will be someone who can think outside the box, and provide our learners with real world learning experiences that can potentially develop their technical and entrepreneurial skills. This role would be very suitable for someone who wants to do something special, unique and be given licence to pursue their passions and ideas around how to develop more innovative use of educational and design technologies.

The HELP International School is at the forefront of holistic education for 3 to 18-year olds in Malaysia. Entering its eighth year of operation, it has enjoyed phenomenal growth with 1300 students on its roll. The school is now entering a period of consolidation, as it seeks to further deepen and broaden the culture of continual improvement that has been in evidence since the school’s founding.

A recent consultation with staff highlighted the levels of collegiality and professional support among staff as a particular strength of the school, as well as its commitment to on-going professional development of all team members. Our host country, Malaysia is an amazing place to live and work in. Many of our staff are now into their fourth year of working at our school.

The appointment commences from in August 2022. The remuneration package offers a competitive salary, and includes housing, medical insurance, annual flights, Apple Macbook Air laptop, education for dependent children and other benefits.
