Vision for Education are currently recruiting for a Design Technology Teacher for an Outstanding Catholic School in Longridge, Preston to commence September 2017 or earlier. This role is for a full academic year on a temporary basis with the potential to become permanent thereafter.

The school seek to appoint an outstanding teacher of Design and Technology who is dynamic, enthusiastic and creative. The successful applicant will be passionate about inspiring their students and be a team player who works collaboratively with colleagues. The ideal candidate would have a specialism in Resistant Materials. The department offers Design and Technology to all students in Key Stage 3, after which time students may opt for a GCSE in DT Electronics and BTEC Engineering. Current Year 9 will be offered GCSE Design Technology centred around Resistant Materials. This post provides exciting opportunities for either an experienced teacher or an NQT. We offer a full support and induction programme for all new staff and a commitment to CPD.

The successful applicant will be:

  • Qualified to deliver Design and Technology across Key Stages 3 – 4 to the highest standard
  • Able to deliver GCSE in the specialist area of Resistant Materials and able to complete the remaining legacy courses of GCSE Electronics and BTEC Engineering.
  • Technically competent in using a range of CAD CAM applications and equipment
  • An excellent practitioner who can raise standards across all age ranges
  • A reflective practitioner who is willing to take an active role in the wider life of the school
  • A strong team player
  • Passionate about the success of students, the department and the school

All staff receive high quality CPD opportunities and there is a comprehensive induction programme for NQTs.

It is essential that you hold a valid, recognised teaching qualification and ideally you will have 6 weeks recent experience of teaching in the UK. We must also be able to contact your past school to obtain a reference.
