Job overview

We are looking to appoint a Design and Technology (DT) Technician to provide practical and technical assistance to support the teaching and learning of DT with students at Alderwood Senior School.


The successful candidate will assist in helping to demonstrate equipment and processes as directed by the class teacher. 


DT Technician Tasks will include:

• Setting up tools, equipment and preparing resources for practical lessons

• Clearing away after practical lessons

• Working closely with teaching staff to support practical work

• Machine maintenance on a regular basis to ensure all kit is working correctly and safely

• Inventory, stock control and ordering of resources for the department


The successful candidate must have the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Previous experience of working in an education setting is desirable. Experience in working with related tools and equipment would be advantageous, but training can be provided for the right candidate.


Alderwood School is an ‘all through’ school on the outskirts of Aldershot split across 3 sites with approximately 750 pupils on our senior site. This role is based at our senior site.

Full or part time hours would be considered. 


Salary details: 


Hampshire County Council Grade C - Actual Salary depending on hours agreed
