The opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced part time Design Technology Technician to work in a dynamic and progressive Art and DT faculty. The successful candidate will be working as a crucial member of a professional team to support student learning across the department with time split between Resistant Materials and Textiles. Key responsibilities are the preparation and day-to-day maintenance of teaching areas and equipment, providing technical assistance to teachers and students. The successful candidate should possess a good knowledge of Design Technology, with workshop experience, either academic or industrial.
The Design Technology department consists of a modern dedicated space with a full range of equipment and resources ranging from traditional equipment such as workbenches, table and band-saws to laser cutters and a dark room. Within this, there is a dedicated prep room and Technician’s office. In addition, we have 4 large art studios including a sixth form studio space and a dark room. The teaching team are a dedicated to the Art & Design education of our students and show this through dynamic and broad curriculum.
Applicants will show enthusiasm towards joining our dynamic, committed and supportive team.
