St Peter’s School, founded in AD 627, is one of the oldest schools in the world. It occupies a 47-acre campus on the banks of the River Ouse, and lies within a short walk of the centre of the historic city of York.
This is a high-profile role in one of the UK’s most respected schools. Reporting directly to and working closely with the Director of External Relations, the Development and Alumni Manager will ensure the development and delivery of a cohesive, creative and effective programme of fundraising activities. With the support of the Alumni and Development Officer, the post holder will also enhance and improve our alumni relations programme to maximise the potential for future support.
Working as part of an extremely strong, professional team, with close and very positive working relationships with academic and support staff, School governors, and close links to national organisations for development and marketing in independent schools, this role is ideal for someone with the ambition to progress, and will be an extremely valuable next step for anyone aiming to progress to Director-level positions in the future.
Educated to degree level, candidates will have substantial experience in a similar fundraising role. Experience within a school or education environment is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will be an outstanding communicator who is highly organised, reliable, creative and driven. St Peter’s values lifelong learning, and the successful candidate will be expected to embrace opportunities for development.
